Considering your ability to control your own motivation and behavior, how have past experiences helped build your courage and resilience to persist in the face of academic and life challenges so that, once these storms pass, you can emerge in continued pursuit of your goals?  (250 words max)

It’s not surprising that the University of Miami wants to hear a story about a time you overcame adversity and demonstrated resilience, since the next four years of your life are bound to present you with hurdles along the way. The obstacles you choose to explore can vary widely in nature. They can be as serious as mourning the loss of a loved one to the coronavirus, as ingrained as the financial issues that have plagued your family for years, or as seemingly pedestrian as a mistake that cost you a tip while serving burgers. Are you the kind of person who can rebound and turn every experience, good or bad, into one from which you can learn something? What experiences might illustrate this quality?
