Why CMSV? Although you may be tempted to talk about how much you love the Bronx or how important it is to you to attend a Catholic college, that’s not what admissions is looking for here. Focus on the academics; the key words in the prompt are “to further your education.” Where do you want to be in five (or ten or twenty) years and how will the College of Mount Saint Vincent help you get there? Maybe you’re excited about CMSV’s joint M.A./M.S. program in Public History/Library and Information Sciences with St. John’s University, a program that would set you up for success in your dream of becoming the best librarian ever (bring on the books, plz). Does CMSV have fantastic internship opportunities that will get you hands-on experience in your field before you even graduate? Are there professors that you can’t wait to learn from? Don’t be afraid to do your research so you can provide specific examples and show admissions that CMSV is the best choice for you to continue your education.
