The Requirements: 1 short essay of 150 words
Supplemental Essay Type(s): Community
Admissions officers want to accept students who are eager to engage with the Fordham community, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they are interested to hear about a time when you stepped outside of your comfort zone for the betterment of a cause you care about. What about your history, experiences, perspectives, or talents might be worth highlighting for an admissions officer? And how can the experience, perspective, or talent you choose enrich the environment at Fordham? Maybe you challenged your social anxiety to organize a picket or protest this summer to show up for reproductive rights. How will you bring people together on campus? Perhaps when your family faced financial hardship, you picked up extra shifts at your local pizza joint to make sure your younger siblings could still participate in recreational sports. Will you be a natural leader in group projects? Be sure to connect your personal story to a future vision of yourself at Fordham.
