People are at the heart of what makes Wooster’s community a special place to live and learn.  Please share something about yourself that is important for us to consider as we learn more about you through this application (there are no right or wrong answers here).    (250 words) – Optional – strongly encouraged for maximum scholarship consideration. 

Odds are that this isn’t the first Diversity Essay prompt you’ve come across this year—even if the prompt doesn’t explicitly use that word. However, if it is, please read on! Wooster wants to accept students from a range of backgrounds who will contribute to their dynamic community, so they want to hear about what makes you you. Ask yourself: What doesn’t admissions know about me yet? What do I wish I’d had more space to write about on my resume or activity list? If you’ve written a supplemental essay for another school about a particularly rewarding activity, this is an excellent place to tweak and recycle that essay. You can also write about your hometown, traditions, culture, orientation, identity, race, or ethnicity. Think about why it’s important for admissions to know this about you. Do you come from a long line of native Chicagoans whose Italian roots are reflected in your impressive tome of family recipes, which you look forward to sharing with other foodies on campus? Perhaps you were raised on a farm and have a very special relationship to all living things (plants, animals, people, etc.) around you. How will you incorporate this element of your identity into your college experience? Make an impression on admissions by showing them why you’ll be a thoughtful, engaged addition to their freshman class.
