Check out our Regular Decision Notification Date Organizer!
First of all, congratulations to all those who got accepted to their dreams schools in the past few days — go you!!
If you received bad news recently, know that you’re not the only one. Ivy leagues and top-tier schools have been getting more competitive in recent years and this year was no different. Trust us, if you were waitlisted or rejected from a school, you are in the majority. Many schools have hit record low acceptance rates for 2017-18 application season.
If you need to throw yourself a pity party, you definitely should (and we’ll bring cupcakes!). But you should also keep in mind that college admissions is incredible competitive and many students are going through the same thing that you are right this moment. The school you go to doesn’t decide your future, you do. Whether you go to your reach school or target school, you have the power to decide how you will use your time in college. Will you join clubs or get a few internships? Are you interested in Greek life or volunteer work? Does research or work study interest you? You can still have the college experience full of football games you’ve always dreamed of, you just might be wearing different colored face paint in the stadium.
If you have found yourself on the waitlist, don’t worry, you can write a letter to admissions reiterating your interest and informing them of any new achievements. And, as always, we can help you iron out the kinks in your letter.
