Ivy and Top-Tier School Acceptance Rates for the Class of 2023

Let’s face it, the competition is fierce to gain entry into Ivy Leagues and other prestigious institutions across the nation.

In 2019, many schools reported record low acceptance rates for the Class of 2023, though Stanford wasn’t one of them.

For the first time, Stanford opted out of reporting data regarding admissions rates (having announced this decision the fall prior). This move was intended, “As a small step in reducing the outsized emphasis placed on the admission rates at U.S. colleges and universities,” according to the article.

Here are the 2019 acceptance rates for top schools across the nation:

• Harvard – 4.63%
• Columbia – 5.28%
• Princeton – 5.78%
• Yale – 5.91%
• Duke – 5.7%
• Brown – 6.6%
• Dartmouth – 7.93%
• Penn – 7.44%
• Northwestern – 8.9%
• Bowdoin – 8.9%
• Cornell – 10.6%
• Rice – 8.7%
• USC – 11.4%
• Barnard – 11.3%
• Georgetown – 14%
• Emory – 15%
• NYU – 16%
• Boston College – 27%
• Villanova – 27.7%
• UVA – 23.8%
• MIT – 6.62%
• Maryland – 13%
• Boston University – 18.9%
• Wake forest: 29.4%
